Label Fixation Staining Mounting
Description The Fixation Staining Mounting describes an activity in which brain tissue such as a brain slice is fixed (e.g. with formaldehyde), stained (e.g. using DAB staining) and mounted (onto an object slide for viewing with a microscope). The activity can follow e.g. a whole-cell patch clamp recording in which individual neurons are filled with biocytin. In the LNMC laboratory at EPFL, the fixation, staining and mounting procedure follows the protocol described here: dx.doi.org/10.17504/protocols.io.ujxeupn and dx.doi.org/10.17504/protocols.io.ujteunn.
